Islamabad (TDI): Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Tehran is approaching ongoing negotiations with the United States with “complete distrust,” according to reports citing Iran’s Mehr news agency.
In a phone conversation with his German counterpart Johann Wadephul, Araghchi stressed that Iran remains deeply skeptical of Washington’s intentions.
He pointed to what he described as repeated broken promises and “betrayals of diplomacy” by the US as the basis for this statement.
Despite this distrust, he emphasized that Iran would participate in the talks with full determination, stating that the country would firmly defend the rights and interests of its people throughout the negotiations.
His remarks highlight the tense atmosphere surrounding the discussions, even as diplomatic efforts continue to seek a broader resolution to the conflict.
