California, 9 September 2024 (TDI): Apple iPhone 16 launch today: Apple Inc. is set to launch its iPhone 16, and the Apple Watch Series 10 at its Glowtime event today (September 9).
Along with the gadget launch, the tech giant is also expected to announce release dates for much-anticipated software updates, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, visionOS 2, and macOS Sequoia.

What to Expect?
At the event, Apple is likely to launch the four variants of the latest iPhone: The iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
While Apple has kept mum about the features of the upcoming iPhones, leaks and rumors have already revealed much of what to expect from the new gadget.
As per the leaks and rumors, one of the most notable changes would be the introduction of Apple Intelligence, which is expected to be the standout feature of these new iPhones.
This will mark Apple’s entry to into the AI-powered smartphone market – putting the tech giant in competition with rivals like Google and Samsung.

In addition to software improvements, significant hardware upgrades are expected. Every model in the iPhone 16 lineup is set to run on the new A18 chip, though the Pro and base models will have different configurations.
To further differentiate the Pro from the base models, Apple is expected to replace the Mute switch on the standard and Plus versions with a capacitive Action Button.
Another new addition is a “Capture Button,” a dedicated camera control that will be available across all models, allowing users to control camera functions through touch gestures.
Both the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are anticipated to have the same camera system this year.
Unlike last year, when the Pro Max had an advanced telephoto camera, the iPhone 16 Pro will now also feature a 5x zoom periscopic telephoto lens.
Design changes in the iPhone 16 Pro series are expected to be minimal, with the addition of a new Bronze Titanium color option.
Meanwhile, the base iPhone 16 models may see their rear camera layout shift from diagonal to vertical.
