Islamabad (TDI): Ambassador-designate of Thailand, Rongvudhi Virabutr, called on the President of Pakistan at the Aiwan e Sadar and presented his diplomatic credentials, in a ceremony hosted on May 20, 2025.
In a public announcement, the Royal Thai Embassy shared a message by the Ambassador, in which he expressed hope that, during his tenure, Pak-Thai relations and cooperation will be significantly elevated.Â
The Ambassador told the general public that he was appointed to serve as Thailand’s Ambassador to Islamabad by the King, and that the appointment took effect from 17 November, 2024.
Envoys of six other countries were also present alongside Ambassador Virabutr in the ceremony at the President House.

Upon their arrival, the envoys were presented with the guard of honor by a smartly turned-out contingent of the armed forces.
President Asif Ali Zardari called for further improving bilateral ties with Thailand. The President highlighted the need for further expanding bilateral trade and business relations.
He congratulated the Thai Ambassador on his new assignment and wished him success in the exercise of duties.
Ambassador Virabutr extended his gratitude to President Zardari for the warm welcome and pledged to work hard on developing relations in all sectors.

Cultural exchange and people to people interactions are very frequent between Thailand and Pakistan. Over the years, Thai food has easily assimilated in Pakistan and a separate Thai section can easily be found on any restaurant’s menu.
