Houston, 30 June 2022 (TDI): The ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Masood Khan, received the badge of Honorary Sheriff of Fort Bend County.
The confinement aims to acknowledge Pakistan and the American community’s laudable contributions to policing and security.
The Pakistan embassy in the US and the Consul General of Pakistan in Houston, Abrar H. Hashmi confirmed this news.
Earlier, the ambassador visited Houston and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Houston to meet Abrar H. Hashmi. Also, the community members and heads of organizations warmly welcomed him. In addition, he met with the governor of Texas and discussed the future of investment and trade between Pakistan and Texas.

Meeting with Governor
While discussing the security measures in Pakistan with the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, Ambassador Masood said that Pakistan wishes to engage corporate leaders in businesses between Karachi and Texas. In addition, he stated that Pakistan is ready to host Texan investments in technology, agriculture, healthcare, Artificial intelligence, and climate change agenda.

Appointment of Khan as ambassador
Last year, Masood Khan was appointed as envoy to the United States in August 2021. He has served Pakistan as Pakistan’s permanent representative to the United Nations in Geneva and New York and as a former ambassador to China. Khan has also served as the former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Concurrently, Masood Khan is known for his activism for human rights. Furthermore, the diplomatic observers in Washington referred to his appointment as a “strong signal to Washington that Pakistan now wants to highlight Kashmir issue”.
