Ambassador Nong Rong met Minister of Finance

Islamabad: July 14, 2021 –(TDI)  Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong met  Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin in Islamabad. Waqar Masood Special Assistant to PM Imran Khan on Finance and Revenue was also present in the meeting.

CPEC and development under CPEC was the main topic of discussion between the two sides. Both sides also discussed the importance of the establishment of SEZs under CPEC and stated that the creation of these zones will help in enhancing the investment and employment opportunities for the people of both states.

Minister Tarin, while talking about CPEC said ‘The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has established a new period of economic prosperity for Pakistan and is of utmost importance. In Pakistan and beyond, the CPEC will create a variety of job and investment opportunities. Talking about the Joint cooperation committee(JCC) of CPEC Tarin mentioned that the working groups under JCC are formed and fully operational. He further mentioned that every group is focused to work in particular areas including development, energy, industrial cooperation, infrastructure, communication, agro and general social and economic development.

Amb. Nong Rong in response to Tarin stated that China is fully dedicated to complete the CPEC project for the common prosperity and development of both nations. He also highlighted the significance of accelerating the implementation of special economic zones (SEZs) and mentioned that CPEC will boost economic and strategic cooperation between China and Pakistan.
