Kyiv, 24 August 2021 (TDI): On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, Noel I. Khokhar, Ambassador of Pakistan to Ukraine, wished all Ukrainians a very Happy 30th Independence Day. Pakistan and Ukraine established diplomatic relations soon after Ukraine’s independence in 1991. Both countries have backed each other up on significant international and regional issues. The Ambassador complimented Ukraine’s friendship with Pakistan in areas such as art, trade, tourism, culture, education, and defense. He was sanguine that this friendship will develop stronger in the future.
Ukraine marks the 30th anniversary of its independence on Tuesday. Following a coup in Moscow on August 24, 1991, the Verkhovna Rada (the Republic’s parliament) declared Ukraine’s independence at an extraordinary session. This year, as part of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, events are being held across the country. A parade of Ukraine’s Armed Forces will be staged on Khreshchatyk Street in Kyiv center.
