Washington DC, 8 April 2023 (TDI): Pakistan Ambassador to the United States (US), Masood Khan met with Matthew Hughes, the new President, and CEO of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA), to discuss the ongoing partnership between Pakistan and the US.

Ambassador Khan congratulated Matthew Hughes on his recent appointment and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue engagement for people-to-people exchanges and improved linkages between the Councils of Pakistan and the US.
During the meeting at the Embassy in Washington, Ambassador Khan noted the long-standing and historic partnership between Pakistan and the US.
Moreover, he also highlighted the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, based on a strong desire on both sides to expand the bandwidth of this relationship, with a special focus on enhanced cooperation in non-security areas.

Ambassador Masood Khan appreciated the role played by WACA and its leadership for promoting programs and educational initiatives for diverse, multi-generational audiences across the US, from grassroots to grass-tops citizens.
Likewise, he briefed Matthew Hughes about the current state of Pakistan-US bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of linkages between academics, educational institutions, and diaspora to forge a solid foundation for long-lasting relations.
Also, he highlighted the huge potential for WACA’s collaboration and intertwining with similar platforms in Pakistan. In response, Matthew Hughes briefed Ambassador Masood Khan about WACA’s mission and its leading programs.
