Ambassador Mansoor Ahmad Khan on Afghanistan situation

Kabul, 20 August 2021 (TDI): The Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan made a statement, expressing that a government in Afghanistan with major ethnic and political groups will establish peace and stability in the country.

Mansoor Ahmad Khan has given clarity to the stance that Pakistan holds on the ongoing situation of Afghanistan. He said that Pakistan will play a constructive role in bringing peace and stability to Afghanistan. On Pakistan’s role in the establishment of such a government in Afghanistan, the ambassador said that it is purely the choice of Afghan groups if they want to form a government through consultation and consent. Reflecting on the meeting he had with the former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Chairman High Council for Reconciliation in Afghanistan Abdullah, he made it clear that the current situation and future political scenario were discussed. Matters were discussed that will be in the best interest of Afghanistan.

The Ambassador assured that the Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul is completely functional and providing for the people of Afghanistan as well as Pakistan in the current catastrophic situation. The Embassy is also giving transit visas to the citizens of other countries, especially the members of the media for their safe removal from the country.
