Alisher Tukhtayev’s Early Life and Education

Alisher Tukhtayev was born on November 12, 1966, in Tashkent Uzbekistan.

Ambassador Tukhtayev pursued his academic endeavors at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies.

Later on, graduated with a degree in International Relations in 1992.

His academic excellence paved the way for his future diplomatic endeavors.

Alisher Tukhtayev’s Career Highlights:

Earlier, Alisher Tukhtayev worked as a foreign minister’s adviser before being appointed to Pakistan.

Alisher Tukhtayev graduated from the Tashkent State Institute of Law. Later, he has held key posts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies, and the Presidential Administration.

Additionally, he previously worked for the Uzbek Association of Cotton and Textile Clusters, first as an advisor and subsequently as deputy chairperson.

Alisher Tukhtayev succeeded Oybek Usmanov as ambassador from 2021 until 2024.

Pakistan-Uzbekistan Relations

Moreover, Uzbekistan’s new ambassador, Alisher Tukhtayev, arrived in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, on October 6. Tukhtayev has been instrumental in bolstering bilateral relations between the two countries.

In addition, Alisher Tukhtayev, handed over his credentials to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday at Islamabad’s Aiwan-e-Sadr Palace.

During the post-ceremonial discussions, both leaders discussed the present situation of Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations and explored ways to further their mutual relationship.
Both parties recognized the great potential for mutual trade growth, with plans to raise bilateral trade to $1 billion.

Particularly, Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy close connections in trade, tourism, healthcare, and education. The nations have established a Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) to promote economic cooperation.

The countries have also signed a Preferential Trade Agreement to eliminate tariffs and non-tariff barriers.
