Islamabad (TDI): Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan on Friday invited Spanish companies to enhance business-to-business (B2B) activities with Pakistan.
He extended this invitation during a meeting with a delegation of Spanish Senate Affairs Committee members in Islamabad.
The delegation included Spanish Senators Vicente Azpitarte Perez, Natalia Ucero, Antonio Gutierrez Limones, and Mr Luis de la Pena. The Spanish Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Jose A. De Ory, and the Pakistani Ambassador to Spain, Zahoor Ahmed, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the minister asked the Spanish Ambassador to Pakistan to provide a list of business entities from his country so that he could send formal invitations and take forward investment matters, accordingly.
“All possible cooperation will be extended to foreign investors coming for business and investment purposes and they will be provided with the best environment in the country,” he assured the Spanish delegation.
Aleem said Pakistan still has potential as a large market for various products and profit margins in Pakistan are still higher than in any other country.
“Even today, Pakistan holds unique products like rice, cotton, and mangoes, which can boost exports. We can further improve this with better management and utilizing the resources available in the country,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Spanish Senators apprised Minister Aleem Khan that Pakistan and Spain can increase bilateral cooperation including in Engineering, Highways, Overheads and bridges from which both countries will benefit. They also discussed the Expo Event being held in the next month.
The Spanish senators emphasized mutual benefits in sectors such as engineering, highways, overheads, and bridges. They also discussed an upcoming Expo event, expressing optimism about fostering bilateral ties.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding trade and cooperation. The Spanish delegation described their visit to Pakistan as “memorable,” and discussions reflected a shared determination to strengthen business relations.
