Beijing, 5 February 2022 (TDI): President of Argentina Alberto Fernandéz is visiting Beijing. This visit of the Argentine President to Beijing coincides with the celebration of the Olympic Winter Games held in China.
Indeed, President Fernandez and Ambassador to China Sabino Vaca Narvaja participated in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics at Beijing National Stadium this Friday.
The Olympic games will last from 4 February to the 20th in Beijing. Ninety nations will play at the XXIV edition of the Winter Olympic Games. Argentina, for its part, has a delegation of six participants.
For instance, Tomas Birkner and Francesca Baruzzi, the alpine skiing team, Franco dal Farra and Nahiara Diaz, the cross country team, Victoria Rodríguez López in speed skating, and Veronica Ravena, in Luge all are members of the Argentine delegation.
The Official visit: An overview
This trip is the second stop of President Alfonso’s international tour. For instance, President Fernandez went first to Russia, and the next visit will be in Barbados. The Chinese Protocol Department Ambassador of Foreign Ministry Wu Jie and Sabino Vaca Narvaja, Argentine representative to China, welcomed President Fernandéz at the airport.
The Argentine President did not travel alone. Indeed, the Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero, the Governor of Rio Negro, Arabela Carreras, and Buenos Aires governor Axel Kicillof, all of them are part of the trip.
In addition to that, the governor of Catamarca, Raul Jalil, the spokesperson of the Presidency, Gabriela Cerruti, the Secretary of Sports, Ines Arrondo, Senator Adolfo Rodriguez Saá, Deputy Eduardo Valdés, Presidential Advisor Cecili Nicolini, and the Mayor José C. Paz Mario Ishii are part of the trip too.
In China, apart from participation in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games, the Argentine President visited the Chinese Communist Party Museum. Furthermore, President Fernandéz will reunite with President of China Xi Zing Ping.
Alongside Argentina Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero, President Fernandéz maintained a meeting with Argentine working diplomates in China. For instance, officials from the Embassy and consulate in Beijing and the consulates of Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou.
Furthermore, the Argentine President and Buenos Aires governor Axel Kicillof participated with authorities of the China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp. The two parts exchanged on how the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines have helped Argentina deal with the pandemic.
For instance, Argentina acquired China 31,672,800 Sinopharm vaccines. Both are negotiating to start local production of the Sinopharm vaccines that will help Argentina deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
