Beijing/Islamabad (TDI): Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has visited headquarters of Power China in Beijing to offer condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan on killing of two Chinese officials in Karachi’s terrorist attack.
During Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s visit to the headquarters of Power China in Beijing, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the tragic killing of two Chinese nationals in the Karachi terrorist attack that occurred in November 2024, a post shared on X stated.
Both sides condemned such cowardly acts and expressed strongest determination to move forward with full speed in order to defeat nefarious designs of the enemies of CPEC.

In the incident, a suicide car bomber in Karachi killed two Chinese engineers and wounded another, along with several local security personnel.
The Baloch Liberation Army, a separatist militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack.
The attack was strongly condemned by Pakistan and China as well as International Community.
Ahsan Iqbal’s Visit Preceded by Strong Condemnation from FO
Immediate after the terrorist attack the Foreign Office stated that Pakistan strongly condemns the heinous terrorist attack near Karachi airport last night, which claimed the lives of two Chinese engineers while injuring another.
“We extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, both Chinese and Pakistani, and offer prayers for the swift recovery of the injured,” FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch had Stated. .
This deplorable act of terrorism is an attack not only on Pakistan but also on the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, she added.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was in close contact with the Chinese Embassy for coordination and facilitation.
Pakistan and China are close partners and iron-brothers, united by a bond of mutual respect and shared destiny, the statement said.
“Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the safety and security of Chinese nationals, projects, and institutions in Pakistan, and will continue to work hand in hand with our Chinese brothers to defeat the forces of terror.”
