Cairo (TDI): Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has arrived in Cairo, marking the first visit by an Iranian foreign minister to Egypt in nearly 12 years.
The visit is part of a broader diplomatic tour aimed at addressing rising regional tensions, particularly related to Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Lebanon.
Before arriving in Egypt, Araghchi visited Jordan, where he met with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and King Abdullah II to discuss ongoing conflicts.
His tour also included stops in Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, and Iraq, underscoring Tehran’s commitment to curbing the escalation of violence in the region.

Iran has issued a warning, stating it will retaliate if Israel takes military action following its missile strike on October 1, which Iran claims was in response to the deaths of allied commanders.
After completing his Egypt trip, Araghchi’ will visit to Turkiye.

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited Egypt to meet with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
During their discussion, they focused on regional developments, particularly the situations in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Egypt’s presidency stated that both leaders called for immediate steps towards achieving calm, including a ceasefire in both areas.
