Malaysian PM Hails Pakistan Military Contributions

Rawalpindi (TDI): Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir to discuss strategic bilateral interests, regional security, and defence cooperation between the two nations.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Anwar praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their significant role in maintaining regional peace and stability.

He acknowledged the professionalism and sacrifices of the armed forces in their fight against terrorism and highlighted the importance of strengthening military relations between the two brotherly countries.

In this context, he extended an invitation to the COAS to visit Malaysia.

In response, COAS General Munir expressed gratitude for the invitation and commended the successful visit of the Malaysian Prime Minister to Pakistan, which he believes will further enhance the enduring and historic ties between the two nations and their respective militaries.

The COAS also participated in the Investiture Ceremony and a State Banquet hosted in honour of the Malaysian Prime Minister at the Presidency, underscoring the importance of diplomatic and military collaboration between Pakistan and Malaysia.
