Sharjah (TDI): Pakistan women’s cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by 31 runs to register their maiden T20 World Cup win in Sharjah on Thursday.

Batting first, Pakistan could not get a decent score on the board as they were bowled out for just 116 runs in the given 20 overs.

However, they bowled brilliantly to defend the modest total. Sadia Iqbal took 3 for 17, while Omaima Sohail, Nashra Sandhu and Fatima Sana took two wickets apiece to restrict Sri Lanka to 85/9.

The Greenshirts will next play archrivals India on Sunday, October 6 in Dubai.
