Islamabad (TDI): International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) has been cooperating with Pakistan for more than 42 years, according to US Deputy Ambassador Natalie Baker.
INL Delegation also reaffirmed the US commitment to bolstering this relationship.
At a meeting at the Ministry of Interior with Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, Baker gave this statement as part of a delegation from the US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
He added that Pakistan’s security is vital to US security and that INL has been working closely with the Pakistani government for more than 42 years. INL Delegation is committed to strengthening and extending this partnership.
Faisal Gill, a police program specialist, Ed Preston, the country director of INL, and Lynn Nelson also made up the INL delegation.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Naqvi highlighted a number of noteworthy initiatives to express gratitude to INL for its invaluable assistance in enhancing Pakistan’s police and paramilitary forces’ capacities.
He underscored the significance of augmenting this collaboration and guaranteeing its longevity. Additionally, he advocated for a thorough master plan that would prioritize high-impact projects.
With the support of INL, Naqvi emphasized the importance of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as a vital investigative body in Pakistan and stated his goal to make it an active organization like to the FBI.

In combating organized crime, he emphasized, this measure would be essential. He also advocated modernizing the Frontier Constabulary, which serves as the nation’s reserve police force, and reorganizing the National Police Academy to conform to international norms.
