PM Shehbaz to Meet Bangladesh Chief Advisor Yunus in New York

New York (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh Mohammad Yunus in New York on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The meeting between the two dignitaries is PM Shehbaz’s first bilateral engagement in New York. He had arrived in the US earlier in the day on a five-day official visit.

The premier will address the General Assembly on Friday.

In his address, PM Shehbaz will present Pakistan’s perspective on various international and regional issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, Palestine and Lebanon issues.

“Prime Minister Shehbaz will reaffirm Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to multilateralism and support for the role of the United Nations in fostering global peace, security and prosperity,” Radio Pakistan said.

During his five-day visit, the premier will also attend several high-level meetings and discussions on existential threats posed by sea level rise. He will also participate in the UN Security Council’s open Debate on Leadership for Peace.

He will also hold various bilateral meetings with world leaders and a call on the UN Secretary General.

Over one hundred and thirty heads of states and governments from across the world will attend the session.
