Pakistan, Iran to Boost Bilateral Trade

ISLAMABAD, (TDI): Pakistan and Iran agreed on Tuesday to form a sub-committee aimed at addressing barriers to enhance bilateral trade.

Tehran and Islamabad had set an ambitious target of $5 billion bilateral trade during Iranian late president Ebrahim Raisi three-day official visit to Pakistan in April this year.

Today, the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, met with the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Rashid Mahmood Langrial at FBR headquarters.

During the meeting, they discussed customs issues, cross-border trade, and strategies for facilitating smoother bilateral trade between the two countries.

Both sides committed to eliminate obstacles that hinder trade and to explore the full economic potential of their partnership.

To further tackle customs-related matters, they decided to establish a sub-committee for ongoing discussions and resolutions.
