ISLAMABAD (TDI): Lebanese authorities have banned on walkie-talkies and pagers for flights departing from Beirut airport, following a series of deadly explosions linked to these devices.
According to reports a ban was imposed after at least 37 people were killed and more than 3,000 were injured in attacks targeting Hezbollah earlier this week.
Lebanese Bans Walkies-talkies
The Lebanese Civil Aviation Directorate instructed airlines to inform passengers that these devices are prohibited until further notice.
The ban also extends to the air shipment of walkie-talkies and pagers.

The explosions occurred during two waves of attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday, which Lebanon and Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group, attribute to Israel.
However, Israel has not claimed responsibility for the incidents.
In a related effort, the Lebanese army announced it would carry out controlled detonations of suspicious telecommunications devices in various areas.
Authorities are calling on citizens to report any unusual devices they may encounter.

Tensions between Hezbollah and Israel have escalated over the past year, with ongoing exchanges of fire along the Lebanese-Israeli border, a situation exacerbated by the conflict in Gaza.
