The Srebrenica massacre or genocide occurred between 1992-1995. It took place after the breakup of Yugoslavia when Bosnian Serbs went against other ethnic groups – Bosniaks and Croats.
More than 7000 Bosniak people died during the Serb forces’ attacks. In addition to the killings, thousands of people left their homes forcefully. The Srebrenica massacre is the worst episode of mass murder in the European region.
