Zimbabwe’s Foreign Minister meets with his counterpart from Algeria

Addis Ababa, 15 October 2021(TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs and  International Trade of Zimbabwe, Frederick Musiiwa Makamure Shava, met with Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra.

The meeting was held at the sidelines of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Wednesday.

The African Union is a continental body that brings together the 55 countries that make up the African Continent. It was established as the successor of the Organization of African Unity. The AU was officially launched in July 2002 in Durban, South Africa.

Foreign Ministers discussed bilateral issues, as well as peace, security, and development of the African Continent. They decided to collaborate closely to protect the African Union’s Supreme interests.

Foreign Minister Frederick M. M. Shava thanked Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra for the meeting. The Foreign Minister said that Africa should work together through the African Union for peace, security, and development of the continent.
