Islamabad (TDI): Prominent religious scholar Dr Zakir Naik called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at his office on Wednesday.
PM Shehbaz warmly welcomed Dr Zakir and expressed his admiration for his scholarly work.
The premier lauded his efforts towards spreading the true essence of the Holy Quran and Hadith, besides promoting Islamic values worldwide.
“The entire Ummah is proud of you for projecting the real image of Islam across the world,” the premier said, adding that a majority of youth listened to his lectures.

PM Shehbaz said he himself had benefited from Dr Zakir’s lectures and valuable teachings of Islam.
“The people of Pakistan fully admire the great personality of Dr Naik and are happy over his presence in the country.”
The PM also recalled meeting Dr Zakir Naik in 2006.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Zakir Naik said Pakistan was the only country in the world which was founded on Islamic principles.
“Islam is the only religion that offers comprehensive guidance to the entire humanity encompassing every aspect of our lives,” he said.

Dr Zakir reaffirmed his promise to continue efforts to spread the message of Islam globally. “The success lies in following the Islamic teachings”.
Recalling that he had last visited Pakistan in 1991, he said he still had the fond memories of that tour.
Dr Naik said that he would also visit Karachi and Lahore.
