Yunnan Welcomes Transfer of Textile and Garment Industries

Yunnan, 11 September 2024 (TDI): The Yunnan 2024 China Industrial Transfer and Development Matchmaking Activities concluded successfully on September 8.

The event took place in Kunming’s Yunnan province and attracted more than 1,300 businesses that came to Kunming in search of investment opportunities within the province.

With the theme of “Sharing New Advantages of Industrial Transfer and Building a New Highland for International Cooperation, the event aimed to improve its industrial development in Yunnan by creating a focus on international cooperation enhancement of the region through industrial transfer.

Speaking on the occasion, Wang Yubo, the Governor of Yunnan’s province, highlighted the geographical merits such as available resources, positive geographical factors, sound industrial base as well as good market potential. He noted that it is the province where industrial transfer will take effect, linking the domestic market with the new markets in South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party (CP), Wang Ning hailed the province in its industrialization aimed at productive dependency on industrial transfer undertakings.

“The province is becoming a hot land for investment and enterprise and a place where dreams come true with better business conditions than ever before,” he said.

Ning added that Yunnan will promote interprovincial, east-west and central levels of cooperation and cooperation with ministries and commissions with focus on receiving industrial transfer while creating industrial economic base of a resource-based economy, park economy and port economy.

During the event, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong emphasized policy assistance to Yunnan for establishing industries for new energy, new materials and biomedicine. She said Yunnan should also improve coordination mechanisms and infrastructure development to make the region attractive for businesses.

At the symposium, key agreements were reached on biomedicine, solar energy, IT and industrial parks, located in border regions. These matchmaking campaigns opened new horizons for business cooperation as well as for the universities and research institutes to seek out possible avenues of interaction.

The plans of Yunnan to engage in industrial relocation are consistent with the aspirations of China to boost the domestic economy and cooperate with the outside world. In particular, the capability of the province to bring in investment and develop industries will greatly impact the level of economic activities in the country.
