Yemen’s participation for the group of least developed countries

New York, 18 September 2021 (TDI): On Friday, Yemen participated in the ministerial meeting held in New York for the least developed countries. Ambassador Abdullah Al-Saadi, Yemen’s permanent representative to the United Nations, spoke on behalf of his country.

The Ambassador emphasized the need for conflict resolution in the least developed countries since most of them were going through some phase of the conflict. According to him, development is hindered in the majority of the countries because of the conflicts rampant in said countries. In addition to that, he spoke about the humanitarian and economic crisis in his country. Also, there is a need to resolve the problem with active engagement. He underlined the fact that Coronavirus in Yemen being a crisis within a crisis and the threat imposed by Climate Change.

The meeting was attended by ministers and high-level officials from the least developed countries.
