Yemen, 31 August (TDI): Yemen received its first consignment of Johnson & Johnson vaccines. At least 151,000 doses of J&J vaccines were donated by the United States.

Yemen is suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis. In the prevailing environment, the USAID team is working tremendously. “The team working in Yemen is helping the people to protect them from Covid-19”, says Samantha Power.

Samantha Power, USAID Administrator for Humanitarian Crisis, further added that a ceasefire is necessary for the prevalent circumstances. She added that complete humanitarian access is necessary to combat the pandemic & vast humanitarian needs of Yemen’s people.

The US-donated J&J vaccine is just a small step in providing health facilities. It is crucially needed in pandemics amidst the humanitarian crisis.
