Beijing (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday called upon BRICS Plus nations to advance common security, mutual development, and cultural harmony.
Addressing the “BRICS Plus” leaders’ dialogue, President Xi highlighted the importance of collective efforts from the Global South as these nations make historic strides toward modernization.
He acknowledged, however, that the path to prosperity remains challenging, urging BRICS Plus nations to leverage their collective resources to foster a community with a shared future.
Xi emphasized the need for BRICS Plus countries to act as a stabilizing force for peace, advocate for enhanced global security, and tackle the root causes of ongoing conflicts.
By offering alternative frameworks, BRICS Plus cooperation aims to accelerate the transformation of the global order, said Chinese experts.

For over a decade, President Xi has championed BRICS cooperation, leading initiatives such as the New Development Bank and the “BRICS Plus” cooperation format, noted Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.
Following the recent summit in Kazan, BRICS leaders released a joint declaration calling for United Nations reforms and addressing global conflicts.
The Kazan Declaration, issued on Wednesday, highlights the emergence of new power centers and calls for the reform of the Bretton Woods system to better represent emerging markets and developing countries.
