Rio De Janeiro (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for advancing the all-round development of China-Mexico relations, emphasizing enhanced cooperation and deeper ties between the two nations.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo on the margins of the 19th G20 Leaders’ Meeting on Monday.
Xi congratulated Sheinbaum on her historic election as Mexico’s first female president and recalled his 2013 visit to the country, describing it as a memorable experience.
He highlighted the strong traditional friendship between China and Mexico, noting that the two nations share aligned perspectives on numerous global issues, including advocating inclusive and mutually beneficial economic globalization.

The Chinese leader reiterated Beijing’s readiness to collaborate with Mexico in upholding multilateralism, promoting global economic fairness, and contributing positively to the international economic order.
Sheinbaum, in turn, expressed her appreciation for Xi’s remarks and acknowledged the close ties between the two nations despite geographical distance.
She noted the significant role of Chinese companies in Mexico’s economic and infrastructure development and extended her gratitude for China’s timely support during challenges like the recent hurricane disaster.
