Beijing, 4 July 2023 (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping underscored the critical importance of ensuring the safety of individuals and their assets amidst widespread flooding.
President Xi has urged officials at all levels to prioritize this vital task and take decisive action to minimize the impact of the floods on affected regions.
In the wake of heavy rainfall resulting in substantial casualties and property losses, particularly in areas like Chongqing Municipality in southwest China, President Xi Jinping issued a significant directive, calling for immediate and concerted efforts.
The president instructed the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters, along with the ministries of emergency management and water resources, to enhance coordination, research, consultation, and early warnings and forecasts.
These measures aim to bolster the effectiveness of flood prevention and disaster relief initiatives.
