Beijing (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping received Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
Xi congratulated Lukashenko on winning another term and described the bond between their countries as one based on genuine friendship and trust.
He highlighted the long-standing close ties between China and Belarus, pointing out the strong political trust and growing cooperation in many areas.
He said that China sees Belarus as an important partner and wants to keep building on their relationship for the long haul.
Xi expressed hope that both countries would continue working together, strengthening their partnership.
He also stressed the value of cooperating within international groups like the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The Chinese President called on both sides to stand united against any form of dominance or unfair treatment and to promote fairness and justice on the global stage.
Lukashenko, who was visiting China for the 15th time, thanked China for its consistent friendship and support over the years. He said Belarus deeply trusts China and is eager to expand their cooperation.

He also praised China’s stance on multilateralism and its opposition to one-sided sanctions and pressure.
Lukashenko said Belarus shares China’s commitment to fairness and justice worldwide and looks forward to working closely with China in the future.
