Beijing (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping described the energy cooperation between China and Russia as a strong and enduring partnership that sets an example of mutual benefit.
His remarks were conveyed in a message to participants of the 7th Russia-China Energy Business Forum.
“Energy cooperation between China and Russia has a long history and a solid foundation. It serves as a model of mutually beneficial collaboration and plays an important role in driving economic and social development, while improving the well-being of our peoples,” Xi Jinping said.
At the forum, Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin highlighted that electricity costs for industry in Russia and China are more than twice as low as in the United States and three to four times lower than in some European nations, giving both countries a natural competitive advantage.

“The efficiency with which Russia and China supply electricity to their economies underpins our development and provides a fundamental edge in competitiveness,” Sechin added.
