Beijing (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended felicitations to Dharam Gokhool on assuming office as the president of the Republic of Mauritius.
Noting that Mauritius a major partner of China in Africa, Xi said bilateral ties have been strengthened to a strategic partnership with concerted and continuous efforts of both nations.

Under the new circumstances, the two sides shoulder the historic mission of national rejuvenation and share the same responsibility in safeguarding global fairness and justice, Xi said, adding the cooperation between the two countries has great potential and a promising future.

The Chinese leader said he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral ties and stands ready to work with Gokhool to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, strengthen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation in different fields and push for greater development of bilateral relations.
