Kyiv, 24 August 2022 (TDI): Celebrations of Independence Day were held all across Ukraine on Wednesday. Government officials in Ukraine encouraged the Ukrainian people to show their commitment to freedom on this independence day.
Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba wished his people through encouraging words on Twitter.
Independence Day is the day of freedom and life for our nation, for our people. Without independence, there would be none — we know it too well from our history. Today, the will of the Ukrainian people to fight for our independence inspires the entire world. Ukraine will win 🇺🇦✌️

Ukraine got independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. This year the national day was celebrated exactly six months after Russia invaded Ukraine in February.
The international community’s leaders including heads of governments, foreign ministers, and other state officials wished independence day to the people of Ukraine during these unsettling times.
Wishes from the UK, France, and the US
United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson stated his remarks in support of Ukraine. Johnson added that the United Kingdom will always stand with Ukraine. He also greeted independence day to the people of Ukraine.
To the people of Ukraine on your Independence Day, I want you to know this: For however long it takes, the United Kingdom will stand with you.

France’s President, Emanual Macron also showed commitment to the people of Ukraine on the occasion of their independence day.

The Ambassador of the United States to Ukraine, Bridget A. Brink tweeted, “The stories of heroism and bravery of the many Ukrainians I have met since my arrival inspire me”.
She added that the US is committed to its duty of standing with Ukraine on its independence day.

Germany and Switzerland wish Prosperity
Annalena Baerbock, the Foreign Minister of Germany, gave her official remarks on the independence day of Ukraine. Baerbock said, “I reach out to the people of Ukraine as we celebrate what you are defending in this war”.

Switzerland’s foreign minister Ignazio Cassis wished prosperity and peace to Ukraine. He also appreciated Ukraine for standing for its freedom and independence.
