Islamabad (TDI): Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Friday reviewed the World Bank’s New Pakistan Country Partnership Framework (CPF) 2026-35, calling for outcome-based projects with clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure effective use of financing.
The framework, developed in consultation with federal and provincial governments and the private sector, focuses on addressing Pakistan’s socio-economic challenges through priority areas including structural reforms, human capital development, energy sector reforms, and climate adaptation.
Chairing the meeting, the minister emphasized aligning the strategy with the government’s “5Es Framework to Turnaround Pakistan” and prioritizing emerging technologies to drive economic transformation.
He stressed that each project must have measurable outcomes to promote accountability and efficiency.

Officials briefed the minister on the CPF’s objective to facilitate inclusive, resilient, and sustainable growth through six key outcomes: reduced child stunting, improved foundational learning, enhanced climate resilience, cleaner energy, better public resource utilization, and increased private investment.

The framework includes projects targeting water scarcity, climate shocks, air quality improvement, renewable energy adoption, and job creation for underprivileged communities. Stakeholders were directed to expedite implementation while ensuring alignment with national development priorities.
The partnership is expected to address Pakistan’s long-term socio-economic challenges and unlock new growth opportunities.
