WHO, UNDP to Upgrade Kazakhstan Labs

-

Astana, (TDI): Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Healthcare has announced a pivotal partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to bolster the nation’s health infrastructure.

This initiative, supported by a three-year grant from the Pandemic Fund, aims to fortify Kazakhstan’s readiness for potential pandemics through significant upgrades to its virological laboratories.

According to the UNDP in Kazakhstan, the project will focus on renovating and modernizing the virological laboratory in Almaty and constructing a new facility in Turkestan.

Both labs will be equipped with SMART (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) systems and incorporate environmentally friendly “green” technologies to promote sustainability.
