WHO appreciates Pakistan’s efforts to COVID-19 vaccination

Islamabad, 23 September 2021 (TDI): The official account of WHO tweeted about an event that was organized by the WHO. It was organized to encourage the Government of Pakistan’s efforts to launch a mobile vaccination campaign. Further, they urged the Government to increase the number of the covid-19 vaccines in refugees as the number of refugees increased in Pakistan after the Afghan crisis.

During this event, WHO representative, Dr. Palitha Mahipala passed over IEC materials to raise awareness & offer accessible information on COVID-19 vaccines. In this event, the Health Minister of Pakistan, Faisal Sultan was present as well and he welcomed the WHO support to the Government of Pakistan.

To tackle the COVID-19 crisis, Pakistan has used an amazing strategy that the world also appreciated. According to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, the strategy also has protected the country from the devastating effects of pandemics.

In a tweet of Faisal Sultan, around 1 Million vaccines were given on Wednesday in Pakistan, which is the highest number so far. He also said that Pakistan has overpassed 30 million doses and the last 10 million doses took 16 days which is 8 times faster than the first 10 million. However, the problem is that to tackle this unprecedented issue, every person in Pakistan is vaccinated and takes necessary precautions. He added that vaccination remains a crucial tool in the efforts to tackle the extreme COVID-19 situation.
