California (TDI): A new typing indicator for both individual and group chats has been released by the Meta-owned messaging application WhatsApp, and it is currently available to selected beta testers.
The typing indicator used to show up at the top of the screen in the application bar, under the group name while a user was typing in a chat, WABetaInfo said. This indicated who was typing at the time.
With the release of this most recent version, the typing indicator—which takes the shape of a chat bubble—will now be visible directly on the discussion screen. Consequently, this allows users to quickly and easily discern who is typing without diverting their attention from the ongoing chat.

It’s noteworthy that the voice recording indicator was also affected by this upgrade. Now that it is displayed in the chat interface in a comparable way, typing and recording activities will be uniform.
Individual chats now have the updated typing indicator as well. It keeps the experience constant by integrating with the chat screen.
Moreover, user profile icons will start to appear in group chats while multiple users are typing concurrently. Users will be able to get a clear list of all active users.
