Los Angeles (TDI): Netflix officially confirms that the wildly popular gothic horror-comedy series Wednesday will return for its highly anticipated second season in a two-part summer release. Part 1 premieres August 6, 2025, followed by Part 2 on September 3, 2025.
The streaming giant also dropped the first official trailer for Season 2, reintroducing audiences to Jenna Ortega’s brilliantly dark portrayal of Wednesday Addams. In the teaser, Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy for a second year—this time, on her own terms.
In true Addams fashion, she quips, “It’s like returning to the scene of a crime — I already know where the bodies are buried.” Later, she affirms, “I do my best work in the dark.”
The trailer also offers glimpses of returning favorites including Emma Myers as her werewolf roommate Enid Siclair, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, and Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, and Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin.
Season 2 introduces Steve Buscemi as Nevermore’s new principal, Barry Dort, promising even more eccentricity and suspense.
Filmed in Ireland—marking a shift from Romania in Season 1—the new chapter welcomes several new cast members to the Addams universe. Series regulars include Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor.
The guest stars feature an impressive lineup: Christopher Lloyd (who famously played Uncle Fester in the 1991 Addams Family film), Thandiwe Newton, Haley Joel Osment, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, Joanna Lumley, Lady Gaga, and Joonas Suotamo.
Wednesday, a series devised by creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and brought to life under the production of Tim Burton, emerged as a phenomenal success in 2022.
It shattered records to become Netflix’s most-watched English-language series, amassing an impressive 252 million views. The show sustained an incredible streak, remaining in the global Top 10 of the platform for 20 consecutive weeks.
Jenna Ortega, who played the lead role in the series, achieved a rapid rise to international fame due to her outstanding performance. She has appeared in several notable films, including Scream (2022), X (2022), Scream VI (2023), Finestkind (2023), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), and Miller’s Girl (2024).
With its signature mix of gothic charm, dark humor, and chilling mysteries, Wednesday Season 2 promises even higher stakes, creepier adventures, and deeper dives into the beloved Addams Family lore.
