In a key development, European countries represented at the meeting expressed readiness to open formal employment channels for Pakistani nationals through legal migration mechanisms. It was also agreed that designated focal persons would be appointed within interior ministries to ensure better coordination and information exchange.

Beyond migration, the talks included in-depth exchanges on internal security challenges, counter-terrorism cooperation, border control systems, and efforts to combat narcotics trafficking.

During his briefing, Minister Naqvi highlighted developments along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, stating that more than 20 terrorist groups are currently active inside Afghanistan. He stressed that Pakistan continues to act as a critical barrier preventing the spillover of terrorism beyond the region.

He further informed the gathering that Pakistan’s crackdown on human smuggling has led to a 47 percent reduction in illegal migration to Europe, underscoring the effectiveness of recent enforcement measures. According to Naqvi, sustained collaboration between Pakistan and European partners is essential to addressing shared migration and security concerns.
