Wang Yi held telephonic call with FM of Iran


Beijing: 18 July 2021 (TDI):The Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif on Saturday.

The ministers exchanged views on different issues.

The Chinese Foreign Minister appreciated the President and the government of Iran for their positive contributions in developing China-Iran relations over the past eight years. He said China is willing to work together with Iran to carry forward the mutual trust and support and strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation, continue jointly opposing unilateralism and bullying behavior, firmly uphold multilateralism and international equity and justice, and better safeguard the common interests of China, Iran, and other developing countries.

He also expressed gratitude to Iran for supporting China on issues concerning its core interests. China will, as always, support Iran in safeguarding its national sovereignty and dignity, choosing a political system and a development path suited to its own national conditions, and defending its legitimate rights and interests.

The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked China for offering vaccines and anti-pandemic materials to Iran and helping in battling the pandemic. He said Iran hopes to continue strengthening anti-pandemic cooperation with China. Iran attaches great importance to its relationship with China and there is hope for the bilateral relations to further deepen after the new Iranian government takes office.
