VP of EU Commission meets with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce

Riyadh, 4 October 2021 (TDI): Josep Borell Fontelles, EU High Representative/Vice President, talks with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi. VP Borell indicated that he agrees with Minister Al Qasabi on the importance of increased interaction between the EU and Saudi Arabia.

Trade may be a frequent means of maximizing existing potential. VP Borell said that they also discussed energy and climate change, and he encouraged the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in COP26.

COP 26 is the 26th conference of the United Nations Climate Change Organization also called the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference. The conference is set to take in the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the 16th meeting of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol, and the third meeting of the parties to the Paris Agreement.

COP26 will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, between 31 October and 12 November 2021 under the administration of the United Kingdom.
