Virtual Meeting of ASEAN Foreign Ministers

Bandar Seri Begawan, 4 October 2021 (TDI): ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting was held via video conference to discuss the preparation of the coming 39th and 38th ASEAN summits and related conferences on 26-28 October 2021. The meeting was hosted by Dato Erywan  Pehin Yusof, Second Minister of the Foreign Affairs  Brunei Darussalam and Secretary-General of ASEAN and Foreign Ministers of ASEAN countries were also a part of the virtual meeting. 

The Foreign Ministers of ASEAN states have discussed their shared commitments to tackle the regional and international challenges and exchange their views on revolving geopolitical dynamics. The Foreign Ministers also highlighted the importance of multilateralism and cordial bonds of ASEAN countries which ensure peace and stability in the region. 

The core objective of the meeting was to discuss the preparations of upcoming summits of ASEAN member states which would be organized in the last week of October 2021. And building multilateral cooperation between ASEAN countries to resolve the emerging issue particularly Humanitarian assistance to Myanmar.
