Vietnam’s President meets his Russian counterpart

Moscow, 2 December 2021 (TDI): The President of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc is visiting Russia where he held bilateral talks with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The meeting was held on Tuesday, in Moscow.

The two counterparts discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation for mutual benefit. Russia regards Vietnam as an important regional strategic partner.

During the meeting, Nguyen Xuan Phuc underscored that the traditional friendship and a comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia are thriving.

While Vladimir Putin on his part, warmly welcomed President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and emphasized the need for Vietnam-Russia’s comprehensive strategic partnership.

He stressed that the socio-economic developmental achievements of Vietnam are recognized in the international arena.

The meeting also provided the leaders a trusted atmosphere to discuss major orientations and measures to open up new cooperation between the two countries.

Matters related to regional and international issues of shared interest were also deliberated upon between the two Asian countries, during the meeting.

Russia and Vietnam enjoy mutually beneficial bilateral ties. The two sides also discussed collaboration in a wide range of fields as well as contribution to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the world.

The key regional partners foresee enhancing the exchange of delegations across party, state, National Assembly channels, and people-to-people exchanges.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc is in Moscow for his official state visit. During the meeting, the counterparts also discussed long-term vision as well as the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership through 2030.
