Vietnamese and Thai legislators enhance cooperation

-

Hanoi, 31 August 2021 (TDI): The Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue held online talks with the President of the National Assembly of Thailand, Chuan Leekpai on August 30. Thailand maintains its position as Vietnam’s largest trade partner in ASEAN and ninth-largest investor. The two sides’ bilateral relations have been growing. To deepen the strategic partnership between Vietnam-Thailand, they agreed to maintain all-level exchanges including their bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

Hue suggests the two sides should enhance their strategic partnership for the 2021-2025 period to accelerate dialogue. That can be done by starting important programs such as extradition agreement and judicial assistance agreement in civil matters and creating favorable conditions for firms to lift two-way trade in a more balanced manner.

Hue proposed the agreement to Thailand that will soon establish the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Parliamentarians of the 15th Vietnamese National Assembly.

Also, the two sides will continue to work closely to enhance ASEAN’s East Sea peace, stability, security, maritime and aviation safety, and freedom in line with international law.
