OECD signed the very first agreement with Vietnam. It will transit the routes of cooperation and OECD country program with the said country.
The memorandum will help country’s reforms especially in the areas where they are already working with each other. OECD and the Southeast Asian country are working together in competition, investment, and tax policy.
Moreover, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is seeking to vitalize the country-specific reports. This includes first OECD Economic Survey of Vietnam; which is due in 2022.
The Organization can also be helpful to the country in following up the OECD Clean Energy Finance and Investment Policy Review of Viet Nam. This got published on the same day, earlier.
The review highlights the suggestions to Vietnam in intensifying finance to acquire the carbon-neutral energy sector. And it will be prerequisite to its pledge at COP26 to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Mathias Cormann noted a ‘crucial role by clean energy sector in Vietnam’s sustainable recovery’ in review.
