Doha, 28 March 2022 (TDI): Felix Plasencia, the Foreign Minister of Venezuela participated in the 20th edition of the Doha Forum.
Felix Plasencia, the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, planned to deliver the message of peace “that inspires the Bolivarian Diplomacy of the Venezuelan Government”. He arrived in Doha on Saturday to represent Venezuela in the forum.
Rashid Mohsin A. Fetais, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Bolivarian Republic, received the Foreign Minister in Qatar. He will participate in the forum on the behalf of the people and the government of Venezuela.
Regarding Venezuela’s participation in the forum, Felix Plasencia announced on his Twitter account that “We bring to the world a message of Peace, a fundamental principle of our Bolivarian Diplomacy”.
In addition, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister met with Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar.
The officials discussed issues of global interest and the importance of the Doha Forum as a platform for constructive dialogue.
Moreover, both officials reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries.
Previously, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister visited Qatar for the 6th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF). The two-day summit took place from 20th to 22nd February this year.
The Doha Forum
The Doha Forum is a global platform for dialogue and discussion. It brings together policy leaders from around the world to discuss “critical challenges facing our world, and to build innovative and action-driven networks”.
Notable politicians, diplomats, business leaders, and academics take part in the Forum. The 20th edition of the Doha Forum took place on March 26 and 27, with the theme of “Transforming For a New Era”.
There were four major focus areas in this edition, including Geopolitical Alliances and International Relations, Financial System and Economic Development, Defense, Cyber and Food Security, and Climate Change and Sustainability.
