Tashkent(TDI): Uzbekistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, recently met with Bangladesh’s Ambassador, Mohamad Monirul Islam, to discuss their nations’ relationship concerning Afghanistan.
The conversation centered on strengthening Uzbekistan-Bangladesh cooperation in addressing Afghanistan’s humanitarian crisis.
The meeting also aimed to explore ways in which the international community can come together to save Afghanistan from ongoing crises and assist in preventing further deterioration of conditions in the country.
Ambassador M. Islam highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to assist Afghanistan in the time of crisis as well as to establish long-term peace and stability in the country.
Moreover, Uzbekistan’s positive role and realistic approach to support the interim Afghan Taliban government will bring regional peace.

Uzbekistan’s support to Afghanistan:
Diplomatic ties between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan are currently growing significantly.
Like, On October 9. 2024, the Islamic Emirates ambassador gave credentials to Uzbekistan’s foreign minister to initiate a new diplomatic chapter.
Trade and economic growth are two of the numerous sectors in which Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have common interests.
Therefore, at this time, Uzbekistan as a responsible neighbor and a bilateral partner extending its full support to Afghanistan in mitigating humanitarian crises.
In October of this month, Uzbekistan’s special envoy, Ismatulla Irgashev held a meeting with the French delegation of Armed Forces regarding cooperation in the issue of Afghan crises.
The highlights of the meeting were the discussion about challenges like counter-terrorism, drug trafficking, border security, and arms smuggling and how collaborative efforts will decrease their intensities.
Additionally, Ismatulla Irgashev also held a meeting with the delegation of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the succeeding month.
When concluding the meeting, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that both sides considered it essential to support the Afghan people through education and humanitarian assistance.
Similarly, Ismatullah Irgashev also negotiated with Hassan Hashem, the ambassador of Qatar in Tashkent to assist Afghanistan from the ongoing crises.

Uzbekistan is among the countries maintaining good political and economic relations with Afghanistan’s interim government., both countries are working for regional.
