Islamabad (TDI): Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtayev on Thursday said that direct flights between Lahore and Tashkent will start next month that would further extended to other main cities of Pakistan.
He told this to Senator Irfan ul Haque Siddiqui, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, to whom he called on.

Senator Siddiqui praised this Uzbekistan’s initiative to commence flights between the two countries starting next month, emphasizing that this development will significantly enhance trade, tourism, and people to people interactions.
He said that both the countries have huge opportunities in trade and culture which should be largely benefited.
Siddiqui also acknowledged an invitation to witness, as an observer, the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan to be held on October 27.
He Expressed enthusiasm about the significant event.

He also thanked the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for inviting the group of Senators to observe the elections that will provide an insight of a democratic process in the country.
During their discussions, both delegates exchanged views regarding bilateral trade too.
The meeting concluded with both delegates exchanging souvenirs.
Earlier, the Chairman welcomed the newly appointed ambassador and extended best wishes for his tenure.
