Uzbekistan Sends Over 26 Tons of Free Seed to Afghanistan

Tashkent (TDI): Uzbekistan has delivered over 26 tons of certified agricultural seeds to Afghan farmers and agricultural organizations, the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement.

The donation is part of an ongoing initiative to enhance regional collaboration and reflects President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s foreign policy priority of developing close ties with neighboring nations.

The seed shipment, sent by Uzbekistan’s Center for Seed Development, includes five tons of cotton seeds (sufficient for two hundred hectares), twenty tons of rice seeds (for one hundred hectares), 500kg of mung beans (twenty five hectares), 187kg of vegetable seeds, and 600kg of melon seeds.

All varieties are high-quality, certified and adapted to the agro-climatic conditions of Afghanistan.
