Uzbekistan–Malaysia Economic Cooperation Reaches New Level

Tashkent (TDI): Uzbekistan and Malaysia have taken a significant step toward deepening bilateral economic ties with the signing of a new memorandum aimed at expanding business collaboration and investment.

The agreement was concluded on the sidelines of the Makkah Halal Forum between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the International Chamber of Marketing and Trade of Malaysia.

The memorandum was signed by Davronbek Kurbanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Uzbek chamber, and Zuber Bakri, President of the Malaysian chamber.

Under the agreement, both sides will facilitate mutual trade delegations and business missions, promote joint investment projects, and exchange market intelligence.

The partnership also includes plans for coordinated participation in international exhibitions and forums, as well as the introduction of technical assistance and training programs aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial skills.

Key sectors identified for cooperation include the halal industry, agro-industrial production, food processing, textiles, and services.

Experts say the memorandum is expected to accelerate joint ventures, attract new investment flows, and open broader market opportunities for businesses in both Uzbekistan and Malaysia, marking a new phase in their economic partnership.
