Dhaka, 3 June 2023 (TDI): The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Bangladesh has trained IDLC Finance Limited representatives through the USAID BADGE energy project.

This is aimed at helping increase financing for Bangladesh’s renewable energy sector and help introduce solar rooftop projects more swiftly.

IDLC Finance Limited, formerly known as Industrial Development Leasing Company of Bangladesh Limited, is a multi-product Non-Banking Financial Institution with its headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Institution offers financial services in the form of Supplier and Distributor finance, Corporate finance, Small and Medium enterprise (SME), Structured finance, retail finance, Deposits, and Treasury products.

The USAID training for the IDLC reps is to further increase the developmental initiative projects of USAID in Bangladesh.

Each year, the U.S. provides $200 million through USAID Bangladesh.

The funding support is to improve health and education, strengthen resilience to disasters and climate change, increase productivity in agriculture, and help Bangladeshis build brighter and more prosperous futures.

According to the official website of the United States of America Government, the USAID program in Bangladesh is the largest in Asia.

This is with some of the world’s important health and food security programs, basic education, environmental activities, as well as important democracy and governance.
